Why does my printer saturate my photos in magenta?

I'm trying to print out photos on my Canon i950 printer and for some reason they come out looking extra purple! People look like they're related to Grimace :) I just put in new ink and it still does it. I have no idea how to clean it or flush the extra magenta ink out or whatever I have to do. Please help me! Thanks.

Depending on what type of printer you have one of two things is likely happening.

    1. Your printer is interpreting the "magenta" color as some other color

    2. You are out of another color ink and the magenta is compensating for it. This happens with my HP 120PC all in one - if it's out of cyan - all my printed emails look red.
