    It all depends on where you live. I live in Texas and worked for a credit union that gave loans with a credit score of 540 and higher. If you have collateral that will help also.

    That depends on a lot of different things. If all your bills are up to date and you have no collections or anything like that, you have a decent shot. As long as you are showing you are currently paying, a lot of credit unions will work with you. It all depends on the credit union though. I nice down payment will also help, say 10% to 20% of the purchase price. Also, make sure you pick a car in your means. This will show you are a responsible consumer who truly needs the loan and will pay it back. Good luck!
