Yes i recall watching it on a documentary, happened in the 1950's, the Soviets planted a bug in the U.S. Seal at the American Embassy in Moscow.

Do you really think the Russians wanted to take over a country the size of the United States? They just didn't want the US killing 28 million of their citizens like the Nazis did in WWII. With thousands of nuclear weapons pointed at them, from their perspective, it sure looked like the US was going to out do Hitler. Let's look at historical facts: Russia doesn't station troops away from it's own region. It prefers to stay in its own neighborhood. When the Russians liberated the Northern part of Korea from the Japanese in 1945, they quickly withdrew their troops after a stable North Korean government was set up. The US set up the South Korean government, but stationed troops there (far from the United States). Today there still is 38,000 US soldiers in South Korea. Not one Russian soldier is in North Korea.
