RSS is a special type of XML based system that enables you to get Headlines to your favorite topics. Be it News,

Website Updates, Forum Posts or even Yahoo Answers.

RSS Feeds (as they called) are basically text but require special tools to be converted to human readable form (trying to be as non-techie as possible :) ). If you really want to see what RSS feeds look like you can Search the net for "RSS Readers". There are Browser Add-ons that allow you to view RSS messages in the browser Window.

Another simple way to make RSS work is to right-click the RSS (orange icon) and add it it to bookmarks. Then Simple point your mouse (don't click) on to the Favorites List where you just bookmarked the RSS. The RSS link will Expand and show you the Headlines. Clicking on them will take you to the relevant Webpage where "More Information" on the topic is available. This type of bookmark is also called "Live Bookmark" in some browsers, so if you have that option you can add the RSS link as the URL for the "Live Bookmark".
