Per Emily Post, it's a fork, unless your hostess puts out a spoon and no fork.

I prefer a spoon so not Even a morsel is left behind!

LOL, you used extra of the recipe on your head than on the paper! Goodness, you messed with the consistency of the cake persistently. Melted butter ability purely that, at the same time as it truly is melted it truly is waiting. buttermilk isn't yogurt probable it replaced into an excellent idea to boost the eggs after dumping banana and honey, 2 of the heaviest ingredients think about idea-about. i does no longer have messed with the flour, I keep both kinds contained in the abode, only a lot less annoying that way, a time saver. Gee, i do no longer comprehend what shelled oats are, as adversarial to rolled oats. New one on me. The words stiff dough would were a tip off to me, besides because the recipe noted as for one egg and a couple of cups of flour plus all those oats. i'd have predicted the recipe to be heavy, and in no way boost plenty. and that i'd have predicted it to be bitter and in no way sweet, there isn't any longer a lot in it to make it sweet, the oats have some sweetness, so does the buttermilk, yet no longer a lot! sure, i imagine you made scones, no longer a cake. Why do not you're attempting figuring out on a no longer sugar sweetener you want to bake with, and going to their website. what's that new stuff, Stevia? attempt that. An i do not blame you for preserving the jam jar close to. you want it!. Applesauce oat cake, what i imagine you've been searching for flavor smart: a million/4 cups applesauce a million cup quick-cooking oats a million/2 cup butter flavored shortening 3/4 cup packed brown sugar a million egg a million a million/2 cups all-purpose flour a million teaspoon baking soda a million teaspoon floor cinnamon a million/2 teaspoon salt a million/2 teaspoon floor cloves FROSTING: 2 cups confectioners' sugar 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened 2 tablespoons milk a million/2 teaspoon vanilla extract instructions In a small saucepan, carry the applesauce to a sluggish boil. Stir in oats; eliminate from the nice and cozy temperature. cover and let stand for 20 minutes. In a blending bowl, cream shortening and brown sugar. upload egg; mix nicely. integrate the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt and cloves; upload to the creamed mix alternately with applesauce mix. Pour right into a greased 8-in. sq. baking pan. Bake at 350 stages F for 40-40 5 minutes or till a toothpick inserted close to the middle comes out sparkling. Cool on a cord rack. In a blending bowl, integrate the frosting elements; beat till mushy. Frost cooled cake
