Help, I would like to make a Holiday dish with shrimp...?

I want to make something different, but not too different. Is there any such thing as a shrimp casserole? I am thinking I want to bake the shrimp with other flavors for a rich and delicious dish. Any thoughts or ideas please?

I am bringing this to someones house.

It seems this is the only recipe I have that isn't done on the stove-top...

"Quick 'n' Easy Baked Crab and Shrimp" - 6 servings

    1 medium green pepper; chopped

1 medium onion; chopped (about 1/2 cup)

    1 cup chopped celery

1 (6 1/2 oz.) can crabmeat; drained and cartilage removed

1 (4 1/2 oz.) can shrimp; rinsed and drained

    1 cup mayonnaise

    1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

    1/2 tsp. salt

    1/8 tsp. pepper

    1 cup dry bread crumbs

2 tsp. butter or margarine; melted

Heat oven to 350*. Mix all ingredients (except bread crumbs and melted butter). Pour mixture into ungreased 1-quart casserole or 6 individual baking shells. Toss bread crumbs in melted butter; sprinkle over seafood mixture. Bake uncovered 30 minutes.

(TIP: 1 1/3 cups cooked crabmeat, with cartilage removed, and 1 cup cleaned cooked shrimp can be substituted for the canned crabmeat and shrimp.)

    2 lbs. steamed shrimp

    1 c. plain bread crumbs

    1/4 c. chopped parsley

    1 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

    Coarse black pepper

    2 sticks butter

    1/4 c. sour cream

    2 garlic cloves, minced

    1 1/2 tsp A-1 Sauce

    Juice of 1/2 lemon

Cream the butter and thoroughly blend in the bread crumbs and the sour cream. Slowly beat in all the remaining ingredients except the shrimp.

Lightly spray 6 to 8 scallop shells (or baking dish) with a non-stick vegetable oil.

Divide the shrimp into the shells and cover them with the butter mixture. Bake at 400 degrees until tops are lightly browned.

We like to thaw a pound of jumbo shrimp and a pound of sea scallops. The shrimp is usually already cooked, but the scallops you hafta cook for 10 minutes or so in a skillet with olive oil. Take the tails off the shrimp and add to the scallops the last few minutes to heat them up and also toss some chopped garlic in the skillet. Boil some broccoli. Boil some linguini and drain. Place noodles in a big pot and add a generous amount of olive oil. Add the shrimp, scallops and broccoli then season to taste. Maybe a salad and garlic bread and some wine. mmmmmmmm

google shrimp casserole dishes. One of my favorite shrimp dishes for the holidays: Spread softened cream cheese on a party tray than layer on top cocktail sauce then layer small or medium fresh shrimp on top then you let your guests spread this on crackers. It is so quick and easy and everyone always wants me to make this.

    Shrimp Scampi Recipe

    1 1/2 pounds large shrimp (about 16 to 24)

    1/3 cup clarified butter

    4 tablespoons minced garlic

    6 green onions, thinly sliced

    1/4 cup dry white wine

2 tablespoons lemon juice, fresh if possible

    2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

    salt and pepper, to taste

Rinse shrimp and set aside. Heat butter in large skillet over medium heat. Cook garlic 1 or 2 minutes or until softened but not browned. Add shrimp, green onions, wine and lemon juice; cook until shrimp are pink and firm, about 1 to 2 minutes on each side.

Do not overcook. Add chopped parsley and salt and pepper before serving. Garnish with lemon slices and parsley sprigs if desired.

Look up a recipe for Lobster Newburg and substitute shrimp for the lobster. I used cook in a high-end retirement community (Snooty people) and they LOVED this dish. I don't have the recipe anymore. Very good.

You can either make shrimp alfrado or shrip salad. Sorry, but I normally don't have sea food for christmas, I have turkey and all that good stuff.
