    We know that: (a / b)(c / d) = (ac) / (bd).

    By what we have:

    a = 5, b = 9, c = 54, and d = 1 (because 54 can be written as (54 / 1)...

    (5 / 9)(54 / 1) = (5)(54) / (9)(1) = 270 / 9 = 30

    HOw does 5 over 9 (54) = 30?

    (5/9)(54) = (5/9) (9)(6)

    Do you see that the nines cancel and you are left with 6*5=30?

    [5/9]*54

    =5*54/9

    =5*6

    =30

    Kind of a tricky way to state the question. By order of operations 5/9*54 = 5*54/9 = (5*54)/9

    Maybe that makes more sense to you.

    5/(9*54)=5/486

    (5/9)*54=5*54/9

    5*(9*6)/9=30 Basically you have 5*6*9/9 and 9/9 equals one.

    Simple way: 5/9 x54/1=270 divide this by 9 and you get 30.

    5x54=270/9=30
