I've got an idea. Raise your kids out in the middle of the woods somewhere, where they can't get the news or talk to anyone who believes in a god. Answer all their questions truthfully and scientifically (like where did life come from, why is the sky blue, etc). See if they EVER come up with the idea of a god, much less the chrisitian god.

If you raise kids with a basic knowledge of scientific progress and logic, there will be no need to 'break it to them' that there's no god - they'll figure that out on their own.

How do you know their is no God, do you know something about death no one else knows about? Death is the great equalizer, it will happen to all of us and none of us have the knowledge of what will happen to us no matter what you believe, but I will hold on to faith before I release it, from my feelings and my experiences, I survived a murder attempt 15 years ago, I was clinically dead, and I live with a bullet in my head. I saw things that many haven't, and believe me, There is something after we die, and I will not say there is no God or the dark side. That is your choice to believe, that is why we are not programs and we were created with free will...

I don't have kids, but I would simply not tell them that there is a God and if they ask I would tell them that I don't believe in God. This is not something horrible that children have to be old enough to understand. It is normal for me not to believe in God. But if my children started to believe in God I would not really mind as long as they wouldn't think that I will go to hell for not believing.

Tough one since God placed in each man a desire to know Him and an innate knowledge of Him. Tell them your thoughts and then let them use the 120 million cells and 130 trillion electronic/chemical connections called their brain that God created to find out the truth. Peace :-)

You should raise them free minded and open to all possibilties and not to force anything on them they will decide for themselves (but also guide so they don't join a religion because they don't want to be outcast just try to keep them in the middle till they get in the teen years then they'll decide

why in the world would any person ever want to say anything like that, even though you do not believe in him he still always believes in you, and still loves you. god sent his only son Jesus Christ to brutally die on the cross to save all sinners, which is , me ,you , and everyone. why would you want to even think of taking a chance that there is no god, you will lose every time. think about it ,heaven forever and ever and ever and ever, in the most perfect place with no suffering ,better than you could even ever imagine. or do you prefer evil death , torture , hate , suffering more than you ever had in your life, times a trillion , well if you like that congratulations it all yours. but it don't have to be, Jesus will free you in all of that just believe and pray and change your heart, listen to christian radio also (American family radio also known as A.F.R is a great place to start, and then talk to someone who does believe in god with all there heart, i am confident if you are willing to listen that there will be great pleasure in your life now and eternity. please don't wait you only have until you die, and as you know that could be at any time. i will be praying for you. from your angel . (GOD LOVES YOU)

My kid's learned by example. We didn't really start talking about it until they were 11 or 12 I think.

I think they also learned through observation. If you look around, it's pretty obvious god is imaginary.

why would you tell them that? its false.

i know people belive different things, and im not saying you have to believe in God, but try it. Read the bible, and ask god for help, see if your life improves-i guarentee it will..but if not or w/e then just tell them you do not believe god exists..and explain why you feel this way and what you believe is another higher power or anything else..believe me just ask..andn god will be there. then you wont have to tell your kids anything!

Though I'm not really religious..I don't think you ever do. As they grow up they will make their own choices about what to believe in and why.
