Santa Claus is a fairy tale character who children believe in at this time of year. As Christmas is on the 25th of December children will visit him at the mall (if more than one is seen families explain that Santa has many elves that help him at this time of the year) see him parades, some towns, cities, or states have a Santa toy shop and the children will go there to see him. Santa is very important to our young children as they do believe that Santa will come down the chimney on Christmas Eve and leave the toys until their Christmas Tree. Children leave out cookies and milk for Santa and even some reindeer food for hi team of reindeer. There is dasher , dancer, donner, blitzen, comet, cupid, prancer and of course ruduolf (not sure of the spelling on that one). It's a wonderful time for children to use their imagination and visualiation to dream of Santa making his way to their house.Hope this was some help, happy holidays.

it all originated a long time ago when a man named saint nicholas climbed down the chimney of a family and put gifts in the socks of a friend's that were hanging over the fire place to dry. since then, people have come up with a fictional character like saint nicholas and called him santa claus to give gifts on the christmas holiday.

Many, many years ago (not sure how many) but there was a man named St. Nicholas...I think he got the "Saint" later on though. He delivered toys and gifts to children and families that could not afford presents at Christmas time.

I heard somewhere that Santa Clause was invented by Coca Cola.

A character derived from the European St.Nicolaus who brings kids toys for Christmas. The original St.Nicolaus used to bring vegetables and put them in the kids shoes outside their window. Now it has evolved into parents lying to their misguided crotch creations about some fat man who supposedly resides at the North Pole (is this even humanly possible?) with a toy shop full of elves, a fat cookie baking wife (Mrs. Claus) and a team of reindeer that pull a sleigh that fly all over God's green earth somehow managing to deliver toys to all the world's decent kids on the 25th of december (Christmas). I guess it's a futuristic propulsion system that either fuels the reindeer or the sleigh that rivals UFO technology. Maybe a world gov't conspiracy. DUN DUN DUNNNN!!!!

What this has to do with Jesus, somebody please tell me. What this has to do with anything matter of fact, please tell me.

The Santa Clause (1994) is a Christmas film released by Walt Disney Pictures, starring Tim Allen as a father who finds himself literally wearing the mantle of Santa Claus after the Christmas figure's tragic death, and contractually bound to become Santa Claus himself by so doing (hence the "clause" in the title, as in a provision of a contract).

Scott Calvin (Allen) is an undependable divorced father with a poor reputation of spending quality time with his son, Charlie (Eric Lloyd). On Christmas Eve, when Charlie is spending the night at his father's house, they are awoken by a noise on the roof. Going outside to investigate, Scott can see someone on the roof. He yells at the trespasser, startling him, and he falls off the roof to the snowy ground below, apparently dying from the twenty-foot fall.

Investigating, Scott and Charlie find the trespasser is dressed as Santa Claus. In moments, the man disappears, but his suit remains behind. Climbing a ladder, the pair inspect the roof and find a sleigh and eight reindeer perched atop. The pair get into the sleigh and the reindeer soon liftoff with them aboard. Scott puts on the Santa suit to appease his son's pleading and begins delivering toys as the deer go from rooftop to rooftop.

The last stop is a seemingly deserted spot in an icy landscape (the North Pole). There Scott is informed (indirectly) that he is the new Santa Claus. The head elf, Bernard (David Krumholtz), shows him a microscopic inscription on the card found in the suit that says whoever dons the suit, upon the death of the previous occupant, assumes the identity of Santa Claus and all the responsibilities that go with it, giving up his previous identity in the process. This is, in fact, the "Santa Clause," as summarized by Bernard: "You put on the suit, you're the big guy." [1]

He is informed he has 11 months to get his affairs in order before assuming the role of Claus fulltime. He and Charlie spend the night at the incredible factory.

Scott and Charlie awake in Scott's home, the only indication of their previous night's adventure being Scott's new silk pajamas with a "SC" monogram. Scott dismisses the whole adventure as a strange dream and goes on with his life.

Eventually, however, Scott starts to notice changes. He starts gaining weight without any effort on his part. He starts craving sweets, and just sweets. Eventually, he grows a long gray beard. Shaving it off has no effect—it regrows immediately. His hair also rapidly grays, even with attempts to dye it. Passing strangers on the street, he knows who's been "naughty" and "nice".

Eventually he comes to grip with the fact that he is Santa Claus and must make amends with his ex-wife, Charlie's mother, Laura (Wendy Crewson). All along, she and her new husband, Neil (Judge Reinhold), have been telling Charlie that Santa Claus is fictional and doesn't exist, believing that Scott's transformation is simply a deliberate attempt to make his son like him.

Eventually Scott is arrested while delivering presents to his sons home for allegedly kidnapping Charlie (Charlie was actually helping Scott and the elves upgrade his Santa operation). While incarcerated on Christmas Eve, he is freed by a team of rescue Elves ("ELFS"—"Effective Liberating Flight Squad"). Charlie is returned home to his mother and step-father. Scott, now Santa Claus, flies around the world to deliver presents. Charlie joins him for part of the trip.

kind hearted traveling wizard named nicholas who somehow earned a reputation for leaving gifts for children on the winter solstice, his legend was so popular that the catholic church had to canonize him as a saint, and his legend lives on to this very day!
