The chain can not be repaired they are usually in cased in plastic or ceramic. You will have to replace the light receptacle yourself or have an electrician do it.

Most of the time when the chain comes out it is because the little flimsy gripper that holds it is pulled apart. That is not worth fixing since you have to take the socket out and fiddle inside it (which is most of the effort required to replace it with a good one instead). You need to buy another socket like it, shut off the power to the light (assuming it is not just a floor lamp you can unplug) and then remove the socket. That usually involves taking out the bulb, squeezing and pulling the socket base, and then using a screwdriver to take off the two wires. Then replace it with the new socket in the opposite steps (put wires back, squeeze and push the socket, put back bulb).

If you are very lucky the chain is not pulled out but just snapped with a little stub of chain still hanging there. You can get a replacement chain that will snap onto that stub.

you'll have to replace the socket. Home or hardware stores will have them. It's okay if you've never done any elecrical work, just make sure the power is off, take the old fixture out and install the new one in reverse. If one of the wires is green, pay special attention to where it hooked on the old fixture. That is your ground wire. BTW, this shouldn't cost you much, maybe $10 or less.

It is very simple procedure to change one of these fixtures. First you need to purchase an enclosed lightbulb fixture with a pullchain. Turn off the electricty to the present fixture, remove present fixture, and disconnect the two wires on the old fixture. Reconnect the wires to the new fixture using the wirenuts removed from the old fixture and screw back into place..Cost about 10.00cdn

Turn off the power to your lighting circuits and unscrew the dome from the pull light switch. You should be able to re-attach the chain to it. You could buy a replacement white cord pull from DIY shops.

Stay carerful, stay safe, and be pretty gentle and there's not much can go wrong.
