i personally think it is easier to live without religion and let me tell you why. With out religion you have no mental rules, you don't have to think "if i watch this movie i might upset HIM and go to hell".

a Wise man once told me " they can't take away your freedom if you are free in your head". think about that

but there is another side. being part of a church or temple can be kind of cool. when a whole group of people gather together in one place to do one thing, like sing for instance, it is magical. i am not saying it is magic because 'God' is there, i mean that it is a huge feeling of community and team work. it doesn't always happen in churches. how else were the pyramids built?

so back to your question, i think there is no simple answer. and i am not going to try to convert you either way. and if i were you i wouldn't let any one convert me at all.

I don't know what is easier. I think it is mostly easiest to be the way you were raised and to believe what the majority of people around you believe. For me it is very easy not to believe in a religion, but it is hard for people who have to start a big quarrel with their parents over this and get pressured from everyone around them. On the other hand it would also be hard for someone who lives in a non-religious surrounding to follow his religion.

You are usually born into a religion, and the rules and regulations thereof fostered upon you by your parents and the clergy.

There comes a time when all man questions what they are thought is true, and this is when one starts to grow spiritually because they want to prove what is being taught, not just take it for granted. Many are surprised by what the research turns up and find themselves with even more questions on what they took for granted because of the teachings they have received as children.

This was my experience I no longer consider myself a catholic, I excommunicated myself so to speak, but am a great believer of the works and teachings of Jesus Christ therefore I call myseld a Christian. Peace be with you.

Easier to believe. No need to figure anything out, just say "goddidit", or "it's god's will".

Funny though how an atheist or a gay person gets ill or injured and it's god's punishment, but if the same things happen to a christian, they're being "tested'. No double standard there of course...

Easier to believe.....Easier to fit into society....Easier to make decisions in life, by asking a Church leader or refering to a Holy Book....Easier to believe those who are not like you, or against you, will be punished....Easier to answer life's "why" question by saying "Must be God"....Easier to believe the most powerful being imaginable is on your side....

First of all, and I don't know if you are referring to a particular religion or not, many people get this twisted and it is the fault of the church, not God. When Jesus Christ was here, He taught AGAINST religion because it is a keeping of rules and regulations. I Corinthians 10:23 says "All things are legitimate (permissible), [and we are free to do anything we please], but not all things are helpful (expedient, profitable, and wholesome). All things are legitimate, but not all things are constructive (to character) and edifying [to spiritual life]." This tells me that I decide what I do with myself but I have to understand that not everything is good for me to do. It doesn't tell me I'll go to hell if I do those things. It tells me if I smoke I might get cancer, if I eat too much, I'll get fat, if I am promiscuous I might get a disease but I am the one who decides whether or not to chance it.

Then Mark 16:16 says "He who believes [who adheres to and trusts inand relies on tghe Gospel and Him. Whom it sets forth] and is baptized will be saved [from the penalty of eternal death]; but he who does not believe [who does not adhere to and trust in and rely on the Gospel and Him. Whom it sets forth] will be condemned." This says all we have to do is believe in Jesus, that He is the one who came and took the blame for us, and we will be saved. The baptism part is negotiable because Jesus told someone who would never be able to be baptized that He would see him in heaven - one of the criminals who hung on a cross next to Jesus.

Religion is different than faith. Religion is a set of rules, which God obviously does not require us to adhere to. When the Bible talks about adhering in the second scripture it means holding to the belief that Jesus saved us.

It is human nature to 'take the easy way out.' And religion is indeed the easy way out. Instead of thinking and using your brain logically and exercising reason, it is easier to say..."Oh well, I don't know, its not my concern, go read the bible. God has all the answers."

For a lot of people , it's eaiser not to....but that doesnt mean Gods not real. My church knew an athiest, and we challenged him to, before he rejects the Bible, try and prove it wrong. He couldnt, and instead ended up proving it RIGHT. He has now turned his life to Christ, and is going to Heaven. Choosing to beleive is the what I'm doing. One day, I'll be in Heaven with Jesus as well.

    ~God Bless~

  • It's easier to believe. It doesn't require critical independant thought. It relieves you of personal responsibility.

It depends on yr feelings on the subject.

If you personally have a feeling of something being out there, it will be easier.

If you don't, or you are just trying to belive the "save yr soul" without knowing why you want to be apart of that faith, it will be more difficult.
