Does a bridge made of boats offer a superb method for crossing waterways?

What are some disadvantages in comparing with ropes and buoys?

it's one way to do it but i cannot see how a floating bridge would be "superb" in any respect except war. it's flexible, and a solid structure would both allow more weight to be carried across it as well as be more easily driven upon.

It's quick to do and eficient. Ask Caesar, who crossed the river Rhine or Xerxes, who crossed the Hellespont. It has been done very often since their times.
