I'll echo the previous answerer's comment about the value of drinking good whiskey neat or on the rocks.

That said, I like whiskey sours:

    3 parts whiskey

    2 parts lemon juice

    tsp sugar

    shake and pour over rocks.

(for the un-initiated, a "part" is 1/2 fl. oz.)

Whiskey Sour is good but also sample a Southern Manhattan:

    2 parts Dickel

    1/2 part sweet vermouth

    Cherry garnish

    My favorite!

Geroge Dickle is some sweet stuff!

Get a bottle of sweet and sour mix, have yourself a whisky sour.

that is good whiskey and it would be a sin to mix it with anything....straight on the rocks is the only way to go.

I would prefer to put in a shot of wodka and a dry martini.

And a spoonfull of honey, but it is not compulsory.
