If the Devil Was an Angel?

What exactly was it that caused him to fall? Do you really believe he was treated fairly?

lol. I like Chucks answer. Actually it depends on who you listen too. There is a theory that when he found out about the creation of Adam/Eve and that they would one day be on a level equal to Jesus he refused to accept this.

The devil was one of God's most loyal.

He denied to bow in front of Adam (AS) and hence was banished from the heavens. he is now on the path to fail mankind.

the "devil" is named lucifer, which means "lightbearer" or "bringer of light" some believe he is nothing more then a pawn used by god to show us where our faith and loyalty lays. he enlightens us of our misdeeds.

regardless, if satan did fall from heaven, then that means there is free will in heaven, meaning we have the option to sin in heaven.

His fall was due to his wanting to be like God. Since he knows and has seen God (as opposed to us, who believe in God but have not seen him), then his punishment should be harsher. Also, since God is completely just, then what judgment was levied against him would also be just.

  • wasn't an angel so to say:

Ezekiel 28:14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

    why he fell

Ezekiel 28:15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

Ezekiel 28:17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

Isaiah 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

    Tlking to Jesus, devil says:

    Matthew 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

Matthew 4:9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

God cast him down because he wanted to over throw God. I do believe that he was treated fairly.

His pride (independence from G-d) caused him to fall and it was also that he betrayed G-d his King.

He wanted to become GOD and have the Power of GOD. therefore he and his followers were cast out of Heaven for rebelling against GOD.

The story I heard was he was so pretty he got greedy and vain about how pretty he is. So he fell from grace.
