Is it normal for ex wives and new wives to get along?

The stepmom is good to the children, but I feel a kinda insecure around her and my ex, even though I don't want him. I have no good reason not to like her, but I just don't.

Any advice?

Have you ever watched "Reba"...well I do all the time...It is about what you are asking...so funny...however I already told my husband..."Just in case there is no gray area never gonna happen." I don't think you or anyone should expect you to be buddies with your ex's new wife. You are lucky that she is good to your children, some are not. Would she be nice to you, if you and your husband got back together...no no no...even though you don't want him back, you still shouldn't have her pushed down your throat.

You should really watch "Reba"...you will get a big kick out of it.

you are so blessed that she is so good to your kids. Some blended situations can be a nightmare!

You said that you felt insecure around her? Well, guess what? I am sure she is feeling just as or even more insecure about you. You are the mother of his kids, you two are linked for life. How to compete with that?

I think that you should take a deep breath and realize that some of those negative feelings are really coming from your own insecurities and not from anything she is doing. Your dislike is probably a defense mechanism. So, embrace that, and then, get over it. You might find that even if you are not ready to be best friends, you might be able to respect each other and get along on a certain level that might, after a while, be friendly enough to feel at peace about the whole situation. You all have to work as a team to raise the kids, you have graduations, school plays, weddings, births and funerals ahead of you! Not liking her is going to really interfere with the comfort level of your life and the life of your kids!!

I would personally pray and ask God to turn my heart about her for the sake of my family, if not just for me. Shalom!

My ex husbands new wife and I get along great... sure we have issues here and there but overall we are good friends. It works out great for the kids that way. We all sit together at school events etc. and the kids are much more comfortable. They have their whole family there together supporting them. So my advice to you is to get over your insecurities and move on.... you will all be better off especially the kids.

There is bound to be a normal tension between the two of you. As long as she is good to your kids and treats you respectfully don't let it bother you. Over time things will get better between you two.

It's normal to feel tension in this situation but like one other said just be thankful she's stuck with your ex, and you've moved on to better things. (Hopefully) And always remember your better than her no matter what!

Nothing says that you have to like her. Be respectful and be glad she's with your ex instead of you.

  • Ya, that just means your over him, and that you're mature. I mean, I wouldn't go kick it with her or nothing, not cuz its wrong, but because it might be weird to other people.

My wife and my ex are having an affair... As long as I get to take movies, I don't see anything wrong with it.

they can get along great if they stop listenin' to they way people talk, and stop gettin' back to their past lives.

the most important if they avoid seein' life az a comptitation which has a loser and a winner.
