The fact that he was so vain he wanted his conversations tape recorded for posterity. Had he not taped his conspiracy conversations, there never would have been any proof that he had been involved in the Watergate cover up.

Richard Milhous Nixon (January 9, 1913 – April 22, 1994) was the 37th President of the United States, serving from 1969 to 1974. He is the only U.S. President to have resigned from office. His resignation came in the face of imminent impeachment related to the Watergate scandal. Nixon's abuse of his office, as well as his broad view of the prerogatives of the president, led many to call his time in the White House the Imperial Presidency.

He was involved with the break-in at the Watergate hotel, specifically, the office of the psychiatrist of Daniel Ellsberg.

Had he not resigned, he most likely would have been impeached.

I still consider him Ono of the best presidents but surrounded by horrible corrupt and inept people i.e. Liddy and others.. but it was his lying about the Watergate that did him in.. If it was in today's scenario, he would have gotten by with it.

He was involved with the breakin at the Democratic Headquarters.

Want to see vain? Look at Hillary Clinton and her wife Bill Clinton.
