Why do people claim and believe that outsouceing and illegal ailens take american Jobs?
America currently has record numbers of jobs outsourced.
We also have record numbers of illegal aliens living within our boarders.
So recently the labor statistics were released and reported that unemployment hasn't been lower since the early 70's.
I'm not saying that there are no ill effects of illegal imigration, but the data does not support this one.
So why do people keep saying the same thing and people believe it when it isn't true?

For whatever reason, the numbers of uber-rich are rising, and the middle class is shrinking.
Statistics indicate that large numbers of highly-paid, skilled jobs have moved abroad; and that the holders of those jobs have either left the workforce or have found service jobs only at substantially lower pay.
It is also true that large numbers of migrant workers have led to a stagnation of pay rates for the lowest paid US citizen workers.
I am not passing judgment, nor -- except for the last item, which reflects Marxian and I suppose Malthusian thinking, do not offer causal relationships.
But there you are.

The labor statistics only show people who are actively looking for jobs and who have not used up their unemployment insurance. If your area has lost many jobs over the past year as is true in the Midwest and the Northeast, and your unemployment has run out, then you are no longer considered to be unemployed. Its a sort of Alice-in-Wonderland logic. In addition to that, there is a very lax attitude to people working part time, or seasonal, they are counted as employed whether or not they want full time work or not. It makes the stats look a lot better than they are.
Outsourcing takes the jobs that require some education, like the familiar call to a computer company that always ends up being answered by someone with a barely understandable accent, that person can be in Mumbai or the Phillppines, but the odds are, its not in Peoria. These are jobs that could be and were done by Americans, and now they are poofed across the sea. The union jobs made this country have a strong middle class, now look whats happened to the car companies shutting down their US plants for the mistakes the executives made in predicting what we would want to buy. Michigan and Ohio are going to look like a war zone in ten years time, with less well paying industries, fewer people will be able to afford their products and so eventually we all lose. Proving I suppose, that short term happiness for the bottom line can mean long term poverty for the nation.

The unemployment rate is based on people who qualified for unemployment and are looking for work. Now that doesn't include people who were fired, quit, or are new to the work force or re entering the workforce or those who are still unemployed after their benefits have run out. It's not counting people who have out of disperation took any job they could but are still looking for employment in their field. You also must be aware that businesses can and do create situations to fire you unjustly in order for you to not be able to collect unemployment. This doesn't include people who were in business for themselves and are now looking for work. When you take a look at all the areas it doesn't cover there's very little that really counts to the governments un-employment rate. I don't know where you live but I can tell you that when any business opens here, and I mean low wage jobs.....there are THOUSANDS lined up from every age and race for maybe 300 jobs. There's suits and ties just desperate for anything, there's elderly needing to suppliment their SS, there's single mothers, college students, highschool kids, mothers and fathers needing a second job........there are people desperatly seeking employment in the very areas that they claim needs the illegals. There are tons of college educated people who had to go into a different field because they outsourced their jobs for cheap labor. Why bother with the time and expense of college if all they want to do is pay low wages?

I believe the biggest problem isn't the number of jobs it is that they drive down the wages in rural America especially.. If i can pay an illegal immigrant 5 dollars an hour to pick fruit or sort cattle i can own a lot more acres or a lot more cattle.. If illegals were not here there would be more farmers and less corporations in farming. I have no problem with legal immigrants my great great grandparents came here from Germany and settle and Farmed there whole lives but did it legally and learned the language. But will things in Mexico ever change and improve if the best and hardest working among them keep fleeing to the U.S?

The unemployment stats do not report illegal workers. That includes those who work under the table. A lot of legal& illegal people work for cash payments that go unreported. Even the employer does not report what he is paying so he can avoid taxes. Take a look at who is doing the out sourceing. Telemarkters, Bill collecters. These are jobs NOBODY inthis country wants so people in 3rd world countries do for a pintance of what a american legal or illegal will do it for

Welcome to the world of statistics, you have fallen victim to the primary rule of statistics: Statistics don't prove anything! To answer your question about outsourcing and aliens taking jobs... you have to look for facts... not statistics. It isn't hard to find someone who lost their job because the company outsourced. The issue of aliens taking jobs is somewhat of a side issue also. Not only are they taking the jobs, but they are keeping the wages low. Americans will take the same jobs aliens are taking, but they cannot afford to live on the same wages.
Behind both of these issues is even a bigger issue. Government rules and regulations, insurance and medical costs skyrocketing because of government subsidization causes companies to outsource and hire cheapest labor available. Ask anyone who runs a business and they can tell you the ridiculous costs associated with hiring anyone due to government regulations. If you think more government controls over costs and having government meddling in insurance is a solution... lord help us!!

Illegal immigration is excused for economic reasons. Politicians in the pocket of special interests tell us our economy needs cheap, foreign, "illegal" labor. In reality, illegal aliens drains our resources. Illegal aliens costs taxpayers an estimated $70 billion a year in subsidies for healthcare, schooling, welfare benefits, and domestic crime-fighting. The illegal aliens in the job market results in lower wages and job losses for native-born Americans, naturalized citizens, and legal immigrants. Current trends, left unchecked, are expected to dramatically decrease the standard of living for everyone
Each week, thousands of illegal aliens cross our southern border. Although some presumably have good intentions, at least twenty percent (20%) of southern border-crossers are known criminals, drug dealers, sex traffickers, and gang lords. Most frightening of all, mingled with those menaces are potential terrorists from countries hostile to the United States

That depends on if you BELIEVE their 'data' or not. A lot of what we're coming to realize is that our immigration 'policy' if you want to call it that, has largely been based on The Mother Of All Bullshit Stories. Believe 1/2 of what you see, 1/3 of what you read etc. The last Congress lost their shirts for being 'ethically challenged', let's hope Democrats pack their ethics when they head for Washington. Illegal immigration is a crime, and since you like to read so much, you'll also quickly discover that the majority of americans are in favor of stopping illegal immigration.
Moralize all you want, practice you violin recitals etc., immigration law needs to be followed on this one, meaning there's people that need to up and move it on home and go fix things there.

This illgeal ailen topic is old. Here is the scope If they would like to better their lives and come here and work then we welcome that. However you must follow the laws. That means you can't Rape, Steal, Murder, Traffic Drugs, Tax Invasion, and Even Speed on the road system.
The problem is the numbers are showing that illegals do the most crime on the boarded states with Mexico. This what are problem is with illegal immigrates they seem to not follow the laws.

IT IS TRUE!!! And since you do not claim to be in this line of work, I wonder why you would tell thousands of people left unemployed that their jobs didnt go to india, when they were informed of this themselves by their employers. Suddenly because you say so, then it becomes a myth? You need to WAKE UP!
