What's a gas log? Sounds like pottie humor to me :-)

If you need to light a gas anything, use a long lighter or a long match. Light the match first and then slowly turn the gas on. Usually the fireplaces have ignitors inside of them? Be very careful with gas and propane.

I have a gas fireplace too.. all you have to do is get the key and turn it in the thing that has the whole in it ( it might be on the floor) and then you light a match and put it above the gas and do not drop it in the fireplace!!!

Light your match then turn gas on, If it doesn't light in 2 seconds, turn gas off and try again 5 minutes later, give gas time to get out of fireplace, you don' want it exploding.

Use a propane B-B-Q lighter..They have a long wand on them., ,Or light a small piece of paper on fire and place it next to the log..Then turn the gas to the log on.
