Competitive rivalry describes the intensity of competition between existing players (companies) in an industry. High competitive pressure results in pressure on prices, margins, and hence, on profitability for every single company in the industry.
You could start by identifying who the competitors of Persimmon UK are, and what they're doing in terms of strategy; e.g., the comparative pricing between Persimmon and its competitors when there's not much differentiation between who the players are and their products/services.
