What did we do wrong???

My husband and I are ttc. I am religiously charting my cylce. This month I ovulated on Nov. 20. We had sex on Nov. 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, and 21. I have had some very light spotting (only when I wipe) on the 28th and 29th. This morning we did a pregnancy test which was negative, and today I seem to have more spotting (more red in color, although still not on underwear). Although I'm not expecting my period until Sat. Dec. 2 (which would be exactly 12 days past ovulation), I am pretty sure that is what is coming. I am so dissapointed with the negative test. If I don't get my full period by Sat we will test again, but I am sure this is AF.

What did we do wrong? What can we do different next time? I am confused as to why we didn't get pregnant.

~ dissapointed :(

The spotting you are having that is before your period could be implantation bleeding and your test may be reading negative because there is not enough pregnancy hormone in your system. Give it time and re-test. Also, don't get frustrated--it can take a normal, healthy couple with no fertility issues a year to conceive--you aren't doing anything wrong--hang in there and have fun ttc. Good luck to you and your husband!

First and foremost if you stress too much about getting pregnant then all it is going to do is make it that much harder for you to get pregnant, breathe relax and just try not to think about it I know it is easier said then done but the more you worry about it the more stressed out you are going to get and which will have an effect on conceiving. So do this wait until you have actually missed your period before testing again so that you don't get any more disappointment. second I would suggest if you are using the basal body thermometers to chart your ovulation those are a bit decieving one thing about charting your ovulation by using a BBT is that it will tell you when you are ovulating but by the time you know your window of actually conceiving is so small, some people chart for a while before actually conceiving because charting is a good way to get in tune with your body and your cycles. your best bet is to get one of those ovulation predictor kits and use that if this month isnt your month for conception (although I am keeping my fingers crossed for you) try the OPK and follow the instructions exactly you have to have two lines that are the same in color and are the same in strength and what that tells you is that your LH surge has been detected and you will ovulate anywhere between 24-36 hours from the time you get that positive and then get to baby dancing, also try having sex three times a week since sperm can live in a womens body for anywhere between 3-5 days depending on the conditions. Also try maybe taking some green tea capsules or drinking green tea The stuff isn't that great but it is really good for you, try cutting caffeine from your diet such as pop, coffee and such. Just relax and understand that it will happen. here is a good website for you to take a look at it lets you look at some womens experiences with getting their big fat positive (BFP) and what they did and how they went about things I have found it to be very informative

www.twoweekwait.com I actually like this site alot another good one is www.fertilityfriend.com I wish you the best of luck and I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers of you getting your BFP hopefully this month if not this month then very very soon.

    relax, breathe.

The average couple takes about 8 months of well timed sex to get pregnant. The likelyhood of getting pregnant each month is only about 25%. The sperm has to meet up with the egg at exactly the right moment AND implant properly.

My husband and I tried for a long time (we had a fertility doctor that we got this info from).

Some doctors suggest sex every other day to give your husband's sperm count a chance to build back up. A nomal healthy couple having intercourse on the right days has only a 20-25% chance of becoming pregnant in any given cycle. Don't worry, just try to relax and enjoy trying.

Hi, The best thing to do is relax. Honestly trying to hard can make it even harder to conceive. What i would do is find an ovulation calender on the internet and use that. Good luck.

  • It may not be that you are diong anything wrong. I tried ttc. for 4 years with my last child. I was at the piont that I had given up & had decided to get my tubes tied. The very next month I was expecting. Sometimes you just try to hard I guess. Just keep trying & ask God to please give you want.

    Stress.

Charting can even lead to more stress. I did that with my first and it took me three years to conceive. I was just a bundle of energy. This time we used Zetec's OvaCue. It's a fertility monitor you just stick on your tongue in the morning and measures your fertilty. It was less stressful this time and we got it on the first month trying.

well sorry to tell you but God is saying its just not your time yet. Plus it takes some couples up to a year to get pregnant, personally it took us 3 months. You'll just have to be patient it doesnt mean your doing something wrong.........if your not pregnant within a year then something prolly is...and you should have your fertility checked along with your hubbys sperm.

    BE PATIENT KEEP TRYING

You didn't do anything wrong. Sometimes it just takes longer to get pregnant. Don't be discouraged. I know people who have tried for a year before they got pregnant. It will happen, you just have to be patient and don't stress out about it!
