Is there a one chromosome organism?

    Bacteria have very few chromosomes compared to us, so there must be a very simple bacteria with only 1 chromosome. Their chromosomes are circular and are called plasmids.

    I dont think there are.

    I think rice has the smallest chromosomes count at 12 per cell and thats not an organism.

    An amoeba is not a one chromosome organism. It is a one cell organism.
