Would our lives be better without the concept of 'time'?

It is a manufactured concept by the human mind... The purpose of which cannot be linked to an evolutionary event... Would the petiness of our day-to-day problems be overridden by the discovery that 'time' itself is a fraud?

If time is a fraud, then day-to-day means nothing.

Time is a fundamental component of the universe (see space-time) whether one choose to acknowledge it or not. Time is not some idle concept that we humans created. It has been here long before we got here and it will be around long after we're gone.

However, for the sake of argument, let's be more abstract. If time is indeed nothing more than the construct of the human mind, how do would one propose to resolve the fact that without time there would be no seperation of events? In other words, what is keeping everything from happening at once?

The conceptualization of time was indeed quite an evolutionary step in human history. It is what allows us to plan ahead, set traps, and track seasons. In fact, it is built in to many life forms (hibernating animals, animals that migrate during certain seasons).

I'm not sure what you're trying to imply, but at the very least time is plainly obvious by the fact that everything around you is changing, including yourself, as time advances.

Nope - time is, as you mention, a great cause of pettiness. But time is also the cause of our greatness.

We have a limited time in our lives. And that limited time is incentive to do something valuable, to have an experience, to accomplish something permanent (again, a time measurement!)

If we had no sense of time, our lives would vanish without a trace. We would have no reason to improve our quality of life, write great literature or make scientific discoveries (let alone remember those works and discoveries!) Time is always giving humanity a push forward - determining and demanding that the human race advance.

Time drives the human race. It controls us, and it gives our lives structure. Without time we would be nothing. We could not survive without it. Even following a daylight, moonlight cycle would be a concept of time, therefore we can not live without some calculation of where we stand, where we are in life. Animals are not controlled by a clock, but by instinct. They do not follow holidays, but they do have an idea of their age due to the daylight cycle. It's still a concept of time. Time is the utter importance of our existence. Without it nothign would get done as no one would have any idea of what they were striving towards.

Time exists. The evolutionary event that marked time was man realizing that things changed with out his interference. The sun rose and set, the moon changed, children grew up. Without the realization that change occurred and could be measured, very little else would have happened.

    No.

    "Time" is measurement of movement.

What does the purpose of time have to do with being "linked to an evolutionary event"?

    How is time a "fraud"?

Time is used for business. The idea that we can control our time with setting up hours and minutes. Sorry, but in the end you can't control time it will always win. Some people are paranoid because they dont seem to have anytime. Worry, about something that should not matter. All you need to worry about is family, love, and respect for others

Time only keeps things organized. Without time everything would be the same, we just wouldn't have clocks and calenders.
