If you have other piercings like in your ears, and can only wear gold or silver, you maybe allergic to the steel they put in the tongue. I was, and did not eat or talk for 3 days before I took it out. Would never recommend that anyone get it done. It hurt worse than all 6 of my tattoos and was a close second to childbirth.

There's a possibility of nerve damage to your tongue, of severe bleeding. You need to make sure that the piercer is clean and everything they touch you with or stick in your mouth is sterile. You'll need to rinse your mouth with mouth wash with hydrogen peroxide in it, not hydrogen peroxide alone its too strong and will hurt your teeth/gums/tongue. Good luck.
