    A virus is usually genetically similar to its intended host...

    So, if the virus is for a horse (like EI) then it isn't transferable to people unless a pair mutation occurs or some other form of genetic mutation. Then, you might have an issue...but if it isn't local to the species, you are usualy fine.

    Also, if you have had the virus before, your immune system defends itself compleatly and you don't get it again. That is why you only need mump shots once.
