I have a beer stein (no lid) with the marking SCHNABL on bottom, any ideas about marking? I can't find it.

Update:

I DON'T KNOW IF THAT WEBSITE WORKS FOR YOU BUT IN MY INTERNET IT IS JUST NOT THAT EASY.

    After the bubonic plague, it was decided that no food item should be kept open. That'. why it was a law to have a lid on the stein. It protected the beer from flies and other insects which often acted a carrier for diseases/
