How much faster do people read than write?
What's the ratio of time it takes to read 5 paragraphs (for example) relative to writing that much? Any concise and reputable sources that you could provide would be very much appreciated!

The average person can read 20 times faster than they can write. The record for writing in cursive is 200 words per minute, the record reading speed is 10,000 word per minute. So, it's about 50 to 1. Subjectively.

Depends on language and your proficiency in it. Usually for Latin its 1.5 the spead of writing , if you read loudly. But for other more complicated scripts like Chinese and Japanese the writing is actually faster
