I just had blood drawn from me for testing on my hormone levels(estrogen, progesterone etc).?

I just wanted to know what exactly is this for?

If you are near menopause it is to look at the phase you are at. It may be to answer a complaint you have had about your periods.

    You can ask your doctor.

Your doctor didn't tell you why he was testing you. Were you complaining about something like irregular periods or depression. It's just a test to see how regular your hormones are. And if the're abnormal he might give you hormones to fix whatever your complaint was.
