just talk to him. tell him how you feel. communication is the best answer!

If he doesnt like you then there isnt anything you can do about that. The only thing you can do is move on, forget about him. If he doesnt feel the same way about you as you do of him, then just let your best friend get him. Its better that you dont get him beacuse it could ruin your friendship with your best friend.
