The 'Seven Deadly Sins' are - superbia (hubris/pride), avaritia (avarice/greed), luxuria (extravagance, later lust), invidia (envy), gula (gluttony), ira (wrath), and acedia (sloth)

The seven deadly sins are often associated with certain colors and animals:

    Pride: violet and horse

    Envy: green and dog

    Wrath: red and bear

    Sloth: light blue and goat

    Greed: yellow and frog

    Gluttony: orange and pig

    Lust: blue and cow

This would explain certain sayings such as "seeing red" when one is very angry, the "green-eyed monster" (referring to envy), or "pigging out" (referring to excessive eating).

This is a most interesting question. Deep thinker, are you? I'm glad you asked it because it got me to thinking as well. I did some reasearch and this is what I came up with. Check out www.deadlysins.com/sins/history.html for more.

    pride - horse

    envy - dog

    anger - bear

    sloth - goat

    greed - frog

    gluttony - pig

    lust - cow

Penguins represent all of the sins known to mankind. They are evil incarnate.

I suppose you could use a sloth for sloth and a pig for gluttony.
