what do i look under for someones past for abuse & whatever else?

    If you are in the US, you can view the "Megans Law" webpage. You can also go down to the courthouse and check his/her record if they have one. You'll have to pay a fee. An adults criminal record is public information.

    It depends if you have been hurt or not. If so, your only being careful. And there is nothing wrong with that especially now a days. But just don't be over careful. Some times that scares away the person you want to be involved with. But there is nothing wrong in watching out for yourself.

    Are you speaking of an adult or child? If a child there are records that are confidential. Same with adults. If you suspect an adult then talk with them about it. Ascertain your safety above all as well as children if any.
