Don't do it! EMI - electromagnetic interferrance. The data signals in the cat5 cables will be corrupted.

The basic answer is, YES, network cables will suffer a downgrade in performance as a result of electrical interference. What kinds of speeds are you running in your office? Is Gigabit Ethernet? 100 Mb Ethernet? There is a good chance you would never notice the impact, and it might be worth it just for aesthetics to put them in the same box. But yes, the electrical wires will most likely cause a little bit of speed deterioration.

YES! Ethernet cables are not shielded against interference. Seperate the wiring. You CAN bundle the Cat5 cables together without any problems... just dont bundle them with electrical lines or power cords.

Cat5 cable is doesn't extremely have a lot of a issue, yet you extremely could avert operating it next to electric powered circuits. severe voltage sources may reason EMI and degrade the signal. Use the further shielded stuff once you've this issue.
