Seriously, what makes it possible for things to start to stink? And more so, why we as humans can smell them?!

What is it in our brains or nose that tells us something doesn't smell too good?

    Bacteria is everywhere no matter how small an object there is micro organisms living and eating on and at it.Tiny sensors in our nose pulsate electrical transmissions to our brain telling us what we are smelling good or bad.We are the extreme machine!
