Do you know any more love metaphors?

LOVE-AS-BOND METAPHOR – love is represented as a physical connection between the lovers.

She has an attachment to him.

There are romantic ties between them.

There is something between them.

LOVE-AS-CAPTIVE-ANIMAL METAPHOR - love is represented as a captive animal, external to the person in love but held onto by him or her, such that letting the animal loose represents loss of control over the feelings of love, and holding onto the animal represents retention of control.

He couldn't hold back his love.

She let go of her feelings.

LOVE-AS-COMMODITY METAPHOR - love is represented as a valuable substance to be traded, thus entailing mutuality of the trade and comparability of the amounts traded.

    eg. She craved his touch.

    Love as God, or the Creation, the source of all Life.

    See also Corinthians scripture that Love is patient and kind etc.

    Another example is the man who told his wife, when she cried to him about finding her first wrinkle, that it was just a dimple and love put it there.
