    'persnickety' or 'pernickety' means worrying too much about unimportant details or being 'fussy'.

    'seredipidious' is the adj. form of 'serendipity', which is used to describe something interesting or pleasant happening by chance. eg: serendipitious discoveries.

    I said it to a guy on the job ("don't get persnickety with me...") without fully knowing the meaning. Of the definitions given here, 'snobbery' fits the best as I referred it to him.
