Question for CHRISTIANS& and anyone that goes to church! How do I get over not wanting to go.......?

To church by myself? I don't go to church as often as I would like to because i'm away from my family and my home church and living somewhere else. There is a church I like to go to but I don't like to go by myself. Church starts in a couple of hours and I know that if my friend doesn't go then I won't go either. I don't know why. Everyone is really nice and very welcoming at this church but I just feel shy going to church alone. I know it's stupid so how do I stop only going to church when someone is there to go with me?

You should still go. I know it's hard. Just make one friend a week, and soon you'll find that it gets easier and easier. Also, you might get involved in some kind of church ministry. I'm involved in a few at my church. Just remember why you are there in the first place, to worship God. I hope you decide to go. You'll be glad you did.

seems like you only go to church just because your friends/relatives go. your like an extra, everyone is original. if you really want to go to church, then you wont mind going alone. Out of all the hours in every week, God is asking for only 1 hour for you to be with him. So give it to him and show your love for him.

Friend you have to take the attitude that I am going to Church if I have to go by myself, I have many times went by myself, yes it can be lonely, My wife has been sick over 3 years, & not able to go to Church, But that don't take away her salvation & Now my health is failing & I had to miss many services, One good thing about our church is that every Broadcast is live on the internet. So my friend, don't let satan work on you, if you are healthy then go even by yourself, Because there might come a time that you want to go, but can not due to health.

Dear one you need to realize one very vital fact here that your missing. Your not away from your family.... You have brothers and sisters in Christ that are going to be at that church and will welcome you. Dont ever feel like your going alone.... God is with you as well as all the brothers and sisters in Christ that are already there when you arrive.... you not just a member of a church...... your a member of the Family of God.

Once you realize your going to be with Family.... youll never feel alone in church again :))

God bless you will be keeping you in prayer :)

You need to pray about this. Try to see your church as another home of yours that you go to, not only to be there to hear the word of God, but to be there to also hear it with an extension of your family. Your Chruch family. I myself am experiencing the lack of desire to go, but I believe the culprit behind that feeling is satan. I have to over come those feelings through feverant prayer, and to remember that I am going to be with the Lord, and not to actually socialize.

Jesus took nearly half of a day suffering for our sins during His torture and crusifixion, I think I can give Him an hour or two of my own once a week.

The relation with God, must be an intim relation, when our mind and soul are just with God.

When i go to the church, with somebody,i take care of that men........and my attention to God is small.

The church is the house of our God,The Heaven-Father,is your house too,in your soul is a part of The God Spirit(which mens have got in the Creation moment from God-read in Genessa) which need this meeting, your soul feels that. We must go ,even alone to the church, but in the church,we are not alone,we are with mens who feels like we,we love they,we feel that,we are a family, the family of God.

Is a fight in your soul, the bed part says don't go.....many motives he find to convence you....,and the good part of your soul says GO,of you only depends who will win.I whish that you go to the church, which is near your house, you feel at home in it with God.You must drive your life, not your friend.Grow up.God Bless you .

If your constience will be in peace, that meens you have done a good choice.

Make friends! If they're all really welcoming then try to chat to people, ask if you can sit next to them etc (sorry, that sounds childish, but you know what I mean!) If other people are too terrifying, make friends with the vicar/priest! And if the church does any groups on other days e.g. prayer circle or something, it might be an idea to join so you get to know people.

You are a living church, go outside and commune with nature. This is God's church. Ask for guidance and hear the answers for yourself directly from Source. God is within you.Be willing to be all that you can be. To often we want answers from the external and not trust what we hear. Perhaps God is asking you you believe in him by listening to him and not a human with their own slant on what is correct. If there is fear or control in a sermon or from any one for that matter it is not from God it is from a man who wants control by imposing fear. God bless and may peace be with you! you were sent heere as an angel as we all were acknoledge this Truth and be the living example of God's wittness.

It might help if you get actively involved with a church committee. It worked for me. I first got on the Trustees committee, then Finance, and enjoyed serving on both.

Go to church. You really want to. Remember why you want to go. Christians need the fellowship.
