Why are there few if any females with hemophilia, even though it is shown on pedigrees of families that have known males with the disease?

it is x linked recessive, meaning that a male will have the disease if his one x chromosome has the disorder. for a female to actually have the disease, she has to have 2 defective x chromoxomes

because usually female hemophilias are letal. (died before born). and others that survive died during menstruation
