nitch can go further, as to explain it's predators and prey.
Nitch is how it as a puzzle piece fits into the world

A habitat is where the organism lives, like in the ocean. A niche is where in that habitat it lives, feeds, etc. specifically. Like a fish's habitat could be the ocean, and it's niche is a coral reef.

Niche is where the organism "fits into" it's habitat .Habitat may be the forest, but niche includes it's role in that forest eg, prey, predator, or scavenger.
