From a financial point of view, no, it is not a good idea.

A trophy wife will break down, and as time goes on things will continue to break down at a faster pace, making the need to fix or replace them go up exponentially each year.

While on the other hand a prostitute does not need to be fixed, they can be replaced. So it is much more economical to go with a prostitute.

It depends on what you are trying to prove. The trophy wife would lend an image that is poles apart. A Rap star would get a prostitute to help with his image, the governor of California has a trophy. Decide your purpose to decide what arm candy you choose.
