how an American worker can be paid $25 an hour and be competitive with a foreign worker making the equivalent?

By being more productive than the foreign worker. If a worker can produce something of better quality and/or more efficiently and quickly then it's relatively cheaper to hire that worker than one making a lower wage who is less efficient/slower.

Perhaps the American worker has more innovative technology which allows him to produce at a higher rate or quality.

maybe a question to answer a question? why do CEO and exec's draw exorbitant fringes and salarys and with such high productivity returns by workers in the last few years not share the return [wealth] with those who produce? is it greed or privilege?

Either this is a lie or he has some rare and highly desirable skill (in a sense, doctors and lawyers are like this).

b/c workers in the US pay more for what they consume (food, health care, transportation, recreation, housing, etc.)
