Samantha, Tabitha, Endora, Sabrina...apparently witch's names must end in an 'a' to be authentic, eh? So, let's see if I can sit here a spell and conjure up a winner. How about:

Saphira, Miranda, Ezmarelda, Zelda, Serpentina, Hexina, Cadaverina, Broomtilda, Potionetta, Zombina, Poofaranda, Zapelda, Matilda, Wartzelda, Brewina, Igotcha, Gonnahexya, Maykillya, Maycookya, Mayeecha. That's all I've got. Good luck! Happy brooming!

Do you mean witch like "cackle-cackle" or witch like "I cant wait to show off my tribal tat at the Renaissance Faire"? There's a lot of crossover, of course, but for the former I'd suggest Esmerelda. For the latter, Rowan is the #1 choice in my experience, but almost any sort of herb would do as well.

search the web for 'name generators'. This is a gaming resource, but you can find some interesting combinations.

Another option is to get ahold of Ruth S Noel's "Languages of Tolkien", it turns out that he based his Elvish languages on ancient Celtic, so things like "El Lach" (Leaping fire of the stars) resonate powerfully.
