Kurd is an ethnicity and not a religion, they are Muslims. they come from northern Iraq between Turkey and Iraq.

Shiites and Sunnis are Muslims too they ALL worship Allah and adhere to the same Quran which is ONE Quran.

the difference between Sunnis and Shiites is a political difference stems from after the death of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

Shiites believe that the successor of the Prophet should be a descendant of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) while Sunnis believe that it should be based on Votes.

the difference in religion is on the Hadith, they don't use the Hadiths that were narrated by the Prophet's companions, ONLY the ones narrated by Ali the Prophet's cousin (may Allah be pleased with him).

Kurds are just a group of people, like Iraqis, Iranis, Americans, etc... They want to separate and have some land of their own to govern called Kurdistan.

Shiites and Sunnis are different sects of Islam. Its incredibly long to explain. The main difference is who they believe followed Mohammed in spreading the word of Islam. There are other differences but thats the one that started the split. This is an informative website, i'm sure you'll find your answer here, its short, sweet, and to the point.

at the start Kurds are a human beings, not a non secular sect. they don't seem to be Arab in beginning place, yet from a area that is now shared with the help of three countries, Turkey, Iran and Iraq. they're Sunnis. the version between Sunnis and Shiites is how they interpret specific teachings of Islam. interior the top they're all Muslim.

Shiite's are the really strict, off with their heads muslim group, Sunni's (like Sadaam) are more tolerant, except of Shiite's, who they seem to like to kill, and if I'm not mistaken, Kurd's are an ethnic group, not a religious one.
