What did Kerry want Bush to apologize for when Kerry messed up his joke?

Was there something in particular that Kerry wanted Bush to apologize for that had to do with Kerry's blunder? Was it just an attempt at damage control as he knew that his die hard supporters would automatically agree with him if he demanded an apology from Bush?

Update:

But why so suddenly try to force an apology about Iraq? Couldn't he do that anytime?

Update 2:

Yes, I noticed that he didn't laugh or smile. I just assumed its cause he lost his place and was trying to find his way back by making stuff up on the spot.

America heard Kerry's comments for what they were.

Kerry got mad because we didn't hear what his statement was supposed to be.

Many Liberals ( such as Mr. Colmes ) claim that Kerry's "joke" was clearly refering to Bush's Iraq policy.

Now why do they say that when the statement that Kerry made in no way refered to Bush, not even any symbolism partaining to Bush...

It just goes to show the far left has a lot of bias.

What a funny "joke" - but Kerry is not laughing, maybe this is because he realizes that the joke's on him.

I wonder if he has taken his foot out of his mouth yet. The Democrats shoved it in there, while they wrote Kerry's "apology".

Kerry's "apology" was not sincere because prior to his apology, as you said, he demanded that Bush apologise. He also said that he will not aplogise for his words.

So you have to be blind to actually think Kerry is sorry.

Those comments are nothing compared to his other anti- troop comments.

He called our boys terrorist for terrorising wemon and children in Iraq. he called his own comrads murderers after he served in Vietnam.

And yet the Liberals say that he is a proud war veteren? He threw his purple hearts on the Whitehouse lawn.

For all we know, he could have made self inflicted wounds to get those hearts.

I hope we don't have to many Democrats that think like John Kerry.

I heard and read the original "joke", and I read his explanation. Both were appallingly insulting to the troops. I don't think it was a botched joke. I think it was botched thought on the part of Senator Lurch with an even worse attempt at fumble recovery. I wonder how many votes he's cost the Democrats.

I agree that President Bush needs to apologize for his mishandling of the Iraq war and should call for the resignation of Rumsfeld. However, you'd think that a Yale grad would know better than to say something that offensive when microphones were around. On the other hand, that hasn't stopped President Bush, another Yalie, from sharing a few gems over the years as well.

Kerry claimed that his joke was a botched attempt at insulting the Bush administration. He was trying to make the point that Bush should be apologizing for what the Senator calls a failed plan on Iraq and an unnecessary mission with poor strategy. He didn't want it to affect his party on election day, so he tried to spin it back around to put the Republicans on the defensive. But when you attack the troops, you're going to feel the pain. Kerry is inept.

Kerry still wants Bush to apologize for having the effrontery to beat him 2 years ago.

What "comic tale?" (apart from Kerry, himself.) What "punchline?" Did you even see a grin on the fool's, I advise Kerry's face? Did you spot him look puzzled like what he meant to declare did no longer pop out the spectacular way? Did you spot him attempt any "What I meant to declare replaced into...." until eventually the uproar over his egregious insult? Did you spot him giggle like he advised the comic tale you human beings insist he suggested he replaced into attempting to tell? Did you hear the be conscious "Bush" suggested in any respect? So, the place's the comic tale then? Are you telling me you never screwed up a punch line and did no longer on the instant backslide and attempt to do it good? Kerry did no longer do any of that because of the fact he meant to call the protection tension stupid! i stumble on it a comic tale which you all of us is waiting to make up those excuses so immediately such as you have been observing something thoroughly distinctive than what relatively got here approximately!

When I heard that the best things the democrats had going for them right now was the fact that John Kerry & Al Gore were not on the ballots , I wondered why Kerry even attempted damage control . I think he is controlling the damage pretty well . He's in the lead .

Kerry is a liar. That statement was a troop bash. Then in typical Kerry Arrogance he said he would not appologize then the people got mad, so he lied and said he was talking about bush, then he shifted the blame to bush. Kerry has been a troop basher since 1971, he helped the enemy win viet nam.

Kerry was trying to take the "oops" spotlight off of himself for calling our troops uneducated. In the process the typical liberal emerged and he (Kerry) began blaming Bush instead of taking personal respnosibility for his own actions!!!!

He was probably unhappy with the way the whole spectacle had been handled. But he brought it on himself, so it isn't a very good idea to sulk about it and demand apologies from other people.
