According to one source,(civilwarhome.com) the Union forces lost over 360,000 individuals and the Confederate forces lost 258,000. A concise, single page reference can be found on the National Parks Conservation Association page, from which I have attached the URL. I found this information by using Dogpile and in the search line typed "civil war deaths". American government offices are also great sources (the Park Service at www.nps.gov and the National Archives, too) for free, quick data.

360, 000 Union and 270,000 Confederate but granted their methods of calculation back then was as precise as we would have now.

This is not just battle deaths...it includes the roughly 400,000 that died from disease and poor conditions, etc, from both sides combined.
