Why didn't Dingy Harry Reid resign from the Senate following the disclosure of his massive corruption?

Did he feel that the double standard for Democrat politicians would protect him or did he feel that, following the coming election, he would be invulnerable.

Harry Reid is a perfect example of the Democrat "Culture of Corruption"

He has been taking "Bribe Money" for years and engaged in numerous illicit land deals.

He owns the largest lobbying organization in Nevada and his four sons are paid lobbyists.

He has even stooped to using campaign money for tipping which is contrary to the Senate Ethic rules.

He will not resign as he is totally aware of the Double Standard that permits Democrats from being punished for Corruption and punishes Republicans for similar illicit actions.

His is probably invulnerable as the people of Nevada not only condone criminal acts on the part of their legislative representatives and their legislatures but also seemingly applaud them.

What Reid did replaced into reprehensible. i do no longer think of he will resign over it using fact he's no longer honorable adequate. i'm happy he pronounced it, nevertheless. It helps show in basic terms how some distance the democratic occasion has sunk. in spite of each and all of the rhetoric to the choice, u.s. would not decide to loose this conflict. The democrats know this to be a actuality. If it weren't the case they might have gladly minimize the investment and delivered credit for it. Watch what they do. What they say is of little effect. The democrats are going to loose in 2008 and issues like this are the explanation why. .

A combination of factors allow him to ignore the honorable and correct action of resigning.

First, he is a senior democrat, if his party re-takes the senate he will be the majority leader. The dems historically take the stance of hunkering down and ignoring critical opinion when one of their own is caught. Look at Studs, both of the Kennedy's, Barney Frank, etc. These men all committed crimes and their party supported them rather than demanding their resignation.

Second, they know the major media outlets (ABC, CBS & NBC) are in their corner and won't make any major issue out of his crimes as long as he can make a plausible excuse.

Third, he has a lock on his district due to his talent at bringing home the pork. If he resigned it would hamstring their run at congressional majorities.

His crimes, yes they were crimes, are of a financial fraud nature. He can plausibly claim that he made an innocent mistake and it will fade the heat.

To G & Map, Reid filed Federal Financial Disclosure forms that he signed as true and correct. Those forms failed to disclose major partnership interests in real estate & undisclosed business partners. In addition he mischaractarized his expenditures of campaign funds when he disclosed the usage of his campaign contributions. He paid personal obligations with campaign money and then reported it as campaign staff salaries. These Federal documents are just as binding as your tax return is. If you think it wasn't a violation of the law try not reporting income on your next tax return and see what the Federal gov't does to you.

He thought Nancy Pilosi would give him an honorary job:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::In 1990, PPelosi voted three times to make a convicted page sexual predator,

former Congressman Gerry Studds (D-Mass.), chair of a congressional committee.

elosi voted against censuring Barney Frank for having his live-in boyfriend

run a prostitution ring from Frank's apartment.

Pelosi raised no objections when Clinton pardoned Democrat Congressman Mel Reynolds (Ill.)

who had been convicted of felonies for having had sex with a 16-year-old campaign worker.

The historic Nancy Pelosi is an authentic representative of San Francisco liberal values and hardly

has the record to lecture anyone on cleaning up the Congress.

    In my opinion.

Because he feels he is above the law.

When he greets other politicans to his state he says, Welcome to the United States of Nevada.

You're question is an absolute lie. There was a land deal in Nevada that at worst was a technical violation of ethics rules. It's still under investigation.

I'm assuming your talking about the land deal issue?

and that's not "massive corruption"... no laws broken, only congressional ethics codes...

if everyone that broke congressional ethics codes resigned, there would be like 3 congressmen left...

but that still doesn't make it right...
