Twin Town is a 1997 black comedy film made and set in the city of Swansea, South Wales, although some parts were filmed in Port Talbot. It was directed by Kevin Allen. It stars real-life brothers Rhys Ifans and Llyr Evans and also features Dougray Scott.

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

    [edit] Plot

The Lewis "twins" of the title are not twins but brothers. They spend their lives stealing cars and sniffing glue. Fatty Lewis, their father, falls from a ladder whilst doing roofing work for Bryn Cartwright. The twins attempt to demand compensation for the accident. Bryn refuses. The twins take revenge by ruining a local karaoke competition in which Bryn's daughter is singing by urinating on her during the performance. Bryn and Terry Walsh, a corrupt police detective (Bryn, Terry and Terry's partner, Greyo, are involved in drug dealing), beat up the twins. As retaliation continues, events spiral out of control, progressing from the beheading of the Cartwrights' pet poodle to firebombings of family homes and a number of deaths culminating in the murder of Bryn and Terry at the hands of the twins in retaliation to the deaths of the twins' family in a firebombing incident.

    [edit] Notes

Due to the involvement of Trainspotting 's director and producer as executive producers, and to the bleak portrayal of life revolving around drugs and petty (and less petty) crime, Twin Town is often described as a "Welsh Trainspotting", a comparison which is almost equally often decried.

Reviews and commentaries on the net fall into three main categories: some mildly positive, those which see it as an extremely poor imitation of Trainspotting, and reviews along the lines of "I am from Swansea and I think it's hilarious". Much of the humour is very local, as are the accents and some of the language (eg amblumance for ambulance, "They could just cwtch up, like").

Time Out London described the film as "a plain misfire," but praised the brothers' performances as showing a lot of promise.[1]

The film is also noted for having many uses of the word "****".

If you ever took precalculus or some other math class which covers properties of functions, you learn how to determine the domain of the function. One of the red flags to look out for is when you divide by zero. In your expression, when x = 3, the denominator is zero. Thus, the domain is every number beside 3. Unfortunately, the number you are trying to plug in (x = 3) is the only number that doesn't work in this function. To see this first hand, you0 can graph this function on a TI-83. If you zoom in on the point of the graph at x = 3, you will see that there is a blank spot there! That is because, as stated above, there just isn't a value of the expression at x = 3. You may say, well it looks like the answer should be 6, looking at the graph. This concept of what the answer "should be" is what limits are all about. The values of the function on the left and right of x = 3 all go towards 6 as you get closer and closer. So we say the limit as x goes to 3 is 6. So even though it is not technically the answer, 6 is your best choice. Zero is absolutely not correct in any sense. The very best answer is to say that the expression is undefined at x = 3. This problem illustrates why 0/0 is called indeterminate. In this problem, 0/0 in a way equals 6. The idea that 0/0 can equal anything is actually the essence of calculus.
