I was watching the tyra banks show, and she said that toothpaste does NOT work, because of the fluoride and the whiteners in them, so no don't use toothpaste. Now baking soda..i use that myself, but i don' t think that will do anything about acne, more or less it will just smooth your skin. Instead i would use anything with salicylic acid like clean and clear, Clearasil, or anything else with salicylic acid will take away the zit, and don't pop it!

Dry and/or greasy skin due to poor oil composition of the skin. Thick greasy oils clog pores, lack of oil leads to dryness and irritation. You need thin oils to moisturize while dissolving and clearing gunk in your poors. Try fish oil or seafood. 2 tsp fish oil a day or 4 servings of seafood a week. Stick it out for at least 2 months; it will take a long time to replace all your oil. Any effect after 1-2 days is temporary or random; so even if it makes you break out a little at first, you haven't given it a full try yet.

In the short term you can wash and moisturize well, but that will only go so far. Plus excessive washing can be drying and excessive moisturizing can be clogging. Use a small amount of a light moisturizer, made with oil not jelly or grease. Often that means soybean oil or mineral oil. Mineral oil means mined from the ground. So soybean oil is usually better, though mineral oil won't cause too much harm. Clean with soap and water, not a harsh acne cleanser. Even then they only work so well. So you really need the seafood.

Antibiotics aren't really good for bacteria long term, they'll come back in force after. Short term they may help. After you get off them find some kefir with acidophilus listed first or 2nd to replace the friendly bacteria they destroyed. Studies show less illness when you have these bacteria, even outside the stomach in places such as the lungs and elsewhere. You want friendly bacteria to fill the void when the antibiotics stop, not harmful ones.

In the short term you might also try 100,000+ iu retinol vitamin A (a megadose, and too much for normal use) or one of the acne drugs that is similar to retinol vitamin A. It's some minor harm to your organs, but it helps against bacteria on your skin. At least it doesn't have the other long term drawbacks to your skin that antibiotics and many scrubs do.

If you would like to learn how to treat your acne permanently and regain your health and wellbeing, without drugs, without typical acne treatments, and without any side effects, then this will be the most important letter you will ever read.

You know what you should take yourself down to Walmart and get a bar of either Phisoderm or Palmers bar soap and use it twice a day. The cost is $1.97 per bar and DO NOT USE toothpaste, rubbing alcohol, oxy etc as they will only dry out your skin and make your acne worse.

However, if your face should feel dry after cleansing use a facial moisturizer on it.

Also, Mary Kay makes a cleansing facial bar for men and the cost is under $10, it cleared up my brother's acne really well. If you have any scaring as a result of your acne or popping zits use natural aloe on your skin. I mean go buy yourself an aloe vera plant. Snip a piece off. peel it open and apply the gel to your skin.

The phiso or palmers fade soap is really cost effective and it works. Just remember use it two times a day.

Try aspirin, it's pretty effective in helping with acne. I believe it contains some kind of acid similar to what's found in acne clearing products. Buy the *uncoated kind (it won't say safety coated like most others, just don't use it for anything other than your face). You add the tiniest bit of hot water to make them dissolve and then use it as a mask for about 30 minutes (use after cleansing, 3 or 4 times a week). It gets pretty flaky if you don't use anything with it, my recommendation would be to add a tablespoon or so of honey, as it'll keep your skin from getting too dried out from the aspirin. You can also add it to any type of regular facial mask. Also, definitely use the witch hazel as a toner after cleansing (it doesn't smell too pleasant, but it works), a good brand is Dickinson's. Use a good cleanser as well (these two are facial bars, both are dermatologist recommended), Basic is a good one (not too drying and good for sensitivity) & Neutrogena is nice as well (they have one for acne, I believe). Even if your skin is oily, moisturizer is a must! Eucerin skin repairing cream is good for skin with acne, or something oil & fragrance-free if you have particulary sensitive skin. Good luck, I hope you find something here that helps :)

You can use baking soda diluted with water to make a disincrustation solution. It heps to soften oil that is clogging your pores. Use one teaspoon baking soda to one cup of water. Soak cotton pads in the solution and let the cotton pads sit on your face for 5-10 minutes. You should be able to remove blackheads much easier.

I would not do with too often as it is very alkaline, and drying to the skin.

If you are looking for a good, but cheap astringint, try pure witch hazel, It doesnt smell great, but it works fantastic.

    Good luck.

It will dry up the pimple, but it will make your face really dry. You can use it if your skin is normally oily, but I wouldn't recommend it for normal or dry skin. Use paste, not a gel, and leave it on for about an hour. Don't mix toothpaste and baking soda-just toothpaste is fine.

use a simple salycilic acid solution. or lemon juice. theres alot of stuff you can use. i recommend natural. Remember also that there are things you can do to prevent unit. Like starting inside to long and not getting fresh air. Air is circulated with debris that fly right into your face breeding bacteria.avoid dairy products. Don't touch your face.get sunlight. I used toothpaste in jail and personally found that it worked better then the Benz oil peroxide and it was only a fluoride solution.

Toothpaste (don’t use gel) helps the swelling of the pimple. It is recommended that you apply it overnight. In the morning, the swelling should be significantly reduced.
