    Jo Stafford. The song was called "Jambalaya," and it was very popular in about 1952.

    The lyrics went something like this:

    Jambalaya, a crawfish pie, a fiddley gumbo,

    "Cause tonight I'm gonna see my masharamio;

    Pick guitar, take fruit jar, and be gayo,

    son of a gun we'll have big fun on the bayou.

    Jo Stafford had several big hits in a row in the early 1950s. The biggest of the others, comparable to Jambalaya, was called "You Belong to Me." The lyrics went something like this:

    See the pyramids along the Nile,

    see the sunrise on a tropic isle,

    just remember darling all the while,

    you belong to me.

    etc., etc., along the same lines.

    Never knew it was a polka song, but who pokas? All I know is that CCR did it and it was no polka. And filet gumbo! Get it? Very cajun even though CCR was more a southern rock band who also did great blues, hell all their music was great. John Fogerty still going and sounding strong.

    It's not polka but country. Hank Williams, Sr. sings the song.

    And it's "bayou", not "bio."
