    One simple reason.

The government is unable to control the THC in each plant. Each plant is different, some are weak in THC and some are very strong. Therefore, the government "claims" that since the THC levels are uncontrollable they are unable to limit or "control" their distribution (which we all know is BS) because we would quickly learn as consumers which brands we prefer or do not prefer. This is a smoke screen simply because the government is unwilling to admit that Marijuana has many medical benefits, including it was admitted 2 weeks ago, it prevents Alzheimer's.

It was made illegal by the government paid to do so by the chemical companies such as DuPont and also because it was popular among the migrant Mexican and Black cotton field workers. It was made illegal by lies and misrepresentation for the economic betterment of Rich White New Englanders.

Outside of its relaxing medicinal qualities the whole plant can be made into what ever is necessary - food, fuel, cloth, building materials- naturally without chemical intervention and that would have put the DuPont's and their ilk out on their lily white bums so they lobbied to have it made ito a narcotic (which it isn't).

Twenty-eight years in the wind running the highways.....no accidents or tickets after nearly two million miles, safety awards, cleanest ride in town can all be lost as easily as a piss. Big Bro took the truck, the ability to drive again without paying for some counseling , trashed work history making one nearly unemployable, then says look what drugs does to you....... Hard to believe what we would do one another. Good Work and Family Ethics may not be enough.

It shouldn't be illegal, If it was legal to grow pot, then a law would be made to make it illegal to process the plant. Until it can be shown how much money taxes on pot will add to the government's coffers, it will always be illegal!

Whats up smokey, it's illegal for two reasons 1, it can't be taxed= meaning the government can't get it's hands in the game. 2. The government makes more money busting and fining poor bastards like us. peace out

because the Mary jane you smoke nowadays is more addicting and lethal than the stuff they smoked years ago. Why you ask because in order to sell more the drug dealers needed to make it more addicting by mixing it with unnatural Chemicals. Besides posion Ivy and Poison oak grow on the earth and are you going to smoke that? Its natural just like your Mary Jane. Try smoking some of that before you try to rationalize something.

  • because the cannabis plant is useful for many things such as making paper, rope, clothes, soap and so on. if it were legal many businesses would be out of money and that is originally why it was made illegal. also mexicans used to smoke it recreationally and itroduced it to americans so the u.s. government made it illegal to deter mexicans from coming to the u.s.

Heroin comes from poppies which grow in the earth, too. Cocaine comes from the coca plant. Should we make them legal?

The government would have difficulty regulating it (for that very reason), and therefore couldn't tax it.

Societal prejudices but, apparently illegal doesn't affect your consumption.
