    Dear Dr. Chopra,

I have had two life-after-life experiences: one in a flotation tank, one after a motorcycle accident. In them I had contact with what may only be described as The Ineffable Light. In that timeless moment I felt loved and accepted as I have never before or since. What was even more wonderful was that I perceived that part of that Light was inside me, as well.

That Light does not get much involved in the day-to-day mundane affairs of mankind. Instead it is both outside and inside of us, waiting to be reunited. When we do things that bring harmony and peace, we make the part of The Light inside ourselves more able to reunite. That part is what we call our souls.

Sometimes our souls need more polishing and so are sent back to the material plane. Sometimes they are just right. We build the celestial temple of that Light together.

That is my experience tempered with my thoughts.

Peace to you, My Brother, My Fellow Being of Light

I think we live on, at least in the minds and hearts of others. At first quite literally, with clear and often poignent memories of our time with loved ones etc. Later, as part of a montage of memories for the people who's lives we touched directly. Eventually, we blend into an overall human experience for each individual, and our effect, good or bad, lives on for generations to come.

If we do good works, if we approach mankind and the earth with love and care, our impact can be quite positive and last a very long time, through the momentum we can build together with like minded and well intended others...

If we chose to take the low road, and to put our selfish interests above others and the collective good, let's hope that our effect is small and rapidly fades away....

I would hope that my soul will watch over my family. I feel like my husbands soul is watching over the children and I now.

if you couldn't do anything in the physical world, the chances of doing anything in spirit is zil, zero.

I'm a Frisbyterian. I believe that when you die, your soul gets stuck on top of a roof, and you can't get it down.

I don't know why Deepak is asking that question because he tells anyone who reads one of his books what the answer is. Nothing happens to your soul when you "die". You're already here, and you're not going anywhere.

I prefer to do and be something more interesting than who I am now, so hopefully I will have something better when I do not do this anymore.
