I just read that scientists are very worried about global warming.

Maybe they’re right. Some were saying that this past winter would be one of Taiwan’s warmest in 35 years!

Really? Well, say that in 50 years our world may lose 20% of animal and plant species.

That sounds terrible!

I’ll say! The effects will be worse in flatter areas than in the mountains.

That’s because those areas are warmer, right?

Yes, so it’s harder for the species in flat areas to move up to cooler areas.

So, we have to do our best to conserve resources and save the world!

Everyone does! Or our world is going to look very different for our children.

    也許他們是對的.有些人說剛剛才過完的這個冬季可能是台灣這35年來最溫暖的一個冬天.

    真的嗎?嗯,約莫在50年中我們的世界裏可能會有20%的動植物消失不見.
